Eric B. McClellan

Eric McClellan, one of several contributing writers to Theology21, specializes in science and its’ intersection with the scripture. Many of his articles deal with the interpretation of scripture and the insights that can be made through the study of the natural world. Eric lives in Los Angeles County with his wife, Heather McClellan and their two dogs, Toby and Max, whom they treat like their kids. It is in his wife that Eric finds a great source of strength and from whom he has learned a great deal.

Eric has been actively pursuing a career in the medical field, having always found an interest in the sciences. The study of medicine has provided him with a great opportunity to continue learning basic science and has encouraged him in the development of ways to apply it practically. Eric holds the conviction that medicine provides an opportunity to really help people—a chance to practically fulfill the instruction of Christ, to “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy” (Matt 10:8a).

When not practicing medicine, Eric enjoys writing on many subjects in theology.  He is greatly interested in the Bible and has a desire to understand the scripture in the deepest way possible. Through the conviction that Biblical illiteracy is on the rise, Eric has a heart to stimulate interest in the biblical text and encourages others to read and study it. Eric believes that studying creation along with a deep study of the scripture can tell us a great deal about our Creator.
